This week sees us recap a fantastic BMW PGA Championship from Wentworth, which saw a star-studded field put on a spectacle for the thousands of golf fans in attendance and those watching at home. Further down the newsletter, we have a couple of fascinating articles that are definitely worth a few moments of your time, as well as a Video of the Week from the weekend's action.

Guess who’s back?

Rewind to May 2018 when Francesco Molinari had just lifted the BMW PGA Championship; he was only two months away from his first Major victory (The Open, of course) and without doubt the golden boy of European golf.

At that very same time, Englishman Danny Willett was going through a dramatic loss of form that saw his World Ranking drop from ninth following his Green Jacket in 2016 to 462nd just after Molinari was finishing up his champagne on Wentworth’s eighteenth.

After going through a raft of changes to find a way back to golf's elite, two huge wins have followed in the last eleven months with the second of those on Sunday at the BMW PGA Championship. A final-round 67 enabled Willett to pull away from Jon Rahm (who he shared the overnight lead with) by closing out with birdie-birdie to win by three and make it seven Tour titles in the 31-year-old’s career.

They've done it again

Winter is coming

Have you ever noticed how much harder you need to hit your putts in the winter compared to summer? As surfaces begin to slow due to longer grass and wetter greens, the need for a little extra effort on your putting stroke becomes clear.

Should you change your putter?

As putts need to be hit harder to get the ball going the same distance as they do in the summer months, using a heavier putter certainly won’t do you any harm.

The thought here is that a heavier putter will do more of the work for you, allowing for a smooth and more controlled putting stroke.

Whilst still being relatively lightweight compared to some putters in the range (Valor is 30g heavier), PING's Sigma 2 Wolverine putter is certainly an option we'd recommend you trying.
