This week we have had 3 members transform their driving with new TaylorMade M1 drivers all gaining that extra distance off the te.! John Turner, Dex Moult and John Cunningham were all impressed with the difference a modern driver could make. The extra ball speed due to the new carbon fibre materials, and the lower spin rates due to the moveable weighting system making the ball travel further in the air.

US Open Sweepstake
We would like to thank everyone who entered the sweepstake this year and wish you all the best of luck. If you haven't found out from the email who you have, then please give me a call.
This year's US Open is set to be a good one with the rough long and thick and long 600 yard par 5's the players will be worried. However the PGA have also thrown in a 300 yard par 3. It is a monster. We have it available to play in our Golf Studio. This week at the end of every lesson I have been giving my pupils a go at teeing off on the 300 yard long par 3. It's safe to say no one has hit the green.
If you fancy a round around Oakmont this week we have a special offer.
4 ball - £10 each
3 ball - £12 each
2 ball - £15 each
Get yourself a game booked in to see what the pro's face when you're on your sofa watching the pro's all struggle. Tell them what they're doing wrong...
Is this golf's toughest Major venue?
It doesn't seem that long ago since Danny Willett was pulling on a certain Green Jacket, but here we are again, it's Major time. What lies in store? Well, it's not going to be a birdie fest, that's for sure.
Put simply, Oakmont is a brute - as you can discover for yourself below. The U.S. Open this weekend is a must-watch, especially if you like to see players work extra hard for their pars. This type of golf isn't everyone's cup of tea, but it does make a change to seeing winning totals around the -15 mark, as is often the case.
Here's a stat for you:
The entire field broke par just eight times during all four days in 2007
