As we finally get a week without the deluge of rain and miserable, is this finally a sign that spring is around the corner!
So it's probably a good time to announce our first demo day of the season!
We will have the full range of hardware from Benross available to demo on Wednesday, 16 March here at Mellor from 11am.
This event has already proved hugely popular, and as such we only have 6 spaces left.
Click here to get in touch if you would like to book one of these final spots!
Bag Trade In
Throughout the month of March we have a cracker of an offer for you to get your season off to a flyer.
We will give you £30 OFF a brand new bag from Titleist when you trade in your old bag regardless of its age, brand and condition.
Just drop into the pro shop and check our great range for yourself.
In 2016 we are looking to really develop and progress our junior section, as this really is the future of the club. We are starting this with FREE subs for all under 16's from April 1st, and we will also be starting the Junior Golf Passport Scheme.
We have our junior AGM this Sunday so we will be handing out flyers to see what interest we can create. If you have a junior who is looking to start playing golf, or improve their golf here at Mellor, click here to download and print out a form, or come and have a chat with us in the pro shop so we can work out what day's/times suit best.
From time to time we like to share some coaching tips through our newsletters in an effort to help you lower your scores. This week you'll see we're offering some advice on how to effectively escape wet sand - which is somewhat topical, unfortunately.
Being able to adjust to the wintry conditions is a real skill, whether that's playing the ball a little further back in your stance to keep the ball underneath the wind, or adjusting your technique to escape wet sand (below) - so we hope you find these articles useful.
Of course, some one-on-one coaching may be what you need, as we appreciate that putting these tips into practice isn't always that easy, even if they make perfect sense.
We hope you're enjoying your golf no matter what the weather is throwing at you, but do come and see us, or make an enquiry here, if you'd like some assistance. In the meantime, give the tip below a try and next time you end up bunkered in the wet sand, you might not get such a sinking feeling.
